About the role
Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who is able to teach pupils with profound multiple learning difficulties and Autism. The Special Needs Teaching assistant will be asked to support PMLD learners across KS1, KS2 and KS3. If you have experience working as a Teaching Assistant/Support Worker/Carer or are passionate about supporting children with SEN, this may be the perfect role for you!
About the school
The ideal candidate will have:
- Availability for immediate daily cover/full time work 8:30am-3:45pm Monday to Friday, with a 15-minute morning break and 30 minute lunch break for support staff.
- have experience working with children and/or adults with learning difficulties including Physical Disabilities, ASC, PMLD
- Youth/Community work experience
- SEN experience
- Residential support/care worker
- Teaching/Learning support Assistance
The role would include:
- Supporting pupils throughout the school day
- Holding 1:1 or small group sessions
- Aiding with the set up and set down of the classroom
- Maintaining high levels of health and safety with the pupils
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Autism Teaching Assistant you will:
- previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable adults
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
