Smart Teachers is recruiting for an SEN TA / Special Needs TA for an ‘Outstanding’ all-through SEN school based in Brent. The school caters for students with a range of needs including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The SEN TA / Special Needs TA will be working on a 1:1 basis with pupils in their primary provision. The successful candidate will need to show initiative and willingness to be involved with the students and supporting the class teacher. The role is to commence ASAP, with the possibility of a long-term role for the right candidate. 

About the Role

• SEN TA / Special Needs TA 

• Will be supporting students with a range of additional needs (ASD, SLD, PMLD) in EY-KS2 

• Must be comfortable with personal care 

• Assisting the class teacher in duties such as preparing resources and managing pupil behaviour

• Providing feedback on pupil progress 

• Role is to commence ASAP with a long-term position for the right candidate

• Daily rate starting from £70 depending on experience

In order to be considered for this role, the SEN TA / Special Needs TA will need to meet the following criteria:

• Have recent classroom experience in the UK (minimum 6 weeks essential)

• Previous experience working with students with SEN, ASD, MLD, SLD or PMLD 

• Must be comfortable with personal care

• Have excellent communication skills as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
