Following the return to remote schooling for some schools, Smart Teachers and our sister companies, Vision for Education and ABC Teachers, have been approved to deliver online learning to pupils safely in their homes through the National Tutoring Programme (NTP).

As an official Tuition Partner for the programme, we were already delivering heavily subsidised face-to-face and online learning to pupils in schools and other alternative provision, and following the current school closures, we have completed a rigorous process by the NTP to approve us to deliver online tuition to pupils in their homes.

Our qualified and experienced teachers can deliver tutoring to primary, secondary and SEND pupils at home or in school, to help ensure they stay on track with their education. Sessions can be delivered on a 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 basis for English, maths and science (KS1 - KS4 students), and history, geography and modern foreign languages (KS3 and KS4 students).

Each pupil can receive 15 hours of tuition through the programme, which can help ensure schools meet the requirement to deliver between 3 to 5 hours (depending on the age of the student) of high-quality teaching to pupils each day during the current lockdown, which was recently announced by the Education Secretary Gavin Williamson.

The Government is subsidising the programme by 75%. Schools will only have to pay 25% of the tuition costs plus the VAT for the whole amount (which they will be able to claim back).

Pupils will need a laptop or desktop pc with a web cam and wifi to access the tuition from home. They will be given access to our bespoke online learning platform, which is easy to use and includes a variety of interactive and engaging features, such as a collaborative text editor tool, which allows both tutors and students to annotate documents together.

Schools can be reassured that we are able to deliver tuition online to pupils in their homes safely as all our teachers are fully vetted, we have all the required training, policies and procedures in place and all online sessions are recorded and securely stored centrally.
