1:1 TA - ASC Focus

Smart Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit a committed and highly capable 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 8 pupil.

About the role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 8 pupil with ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition)

• Support the pupil’s engagement, emotional regulation, and access to learning

• Implement effective behaviour strategies in line with school policies

• Work closely with teaching staff and the SEN team

• Promote positive interactions and ensure a safe learning environment

Requirements

To be considered for the role of 1:1 TA - ASC Focus you will:

• Team Teach trained (essential or highly desirable)
• Experienced in supporting students with ASC
• Strong understanding of how a mainstream secondary school operates
• Calm, confident, and able to build positive, professional relationships
• Committed, reliable, and able to hit the ground running

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Suitable ASC experience
