Smart Teachers is recruiting a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support learners aged 16–19 in Redbridge

This rewarding role involves working closely with young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and prepare for adulthood. The successful candidate will provide both academic and pastoral support, ensuring students can achieve their individual goals in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of POST-16 SEMH TA you will:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEND, or additional needs
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Suitable SEMH experience
