About the role
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Be passionate about teaching in a non-mainstream environment and embrace the unique opportunities provided by a special school setting.
- Demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach, using creativity to deliver inclusive, engaging, and inspiring lessons.
- Hold a recognised UK teaching qualification (QTS or QTLS).
- Have experience or a strong interest in working with children with SEND, gained through Initial Teacher Training (ITT) or other opportunities.
- This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with complex needs and learning difficulties.
About the school
You will be teaching a small class of secondary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and associated communication or sensory needs. The school promotes a holistic, child-centred approach and provides excellent support from highly trained teaching assistants, therapists, and a nurturing leadership team.
The school is a vibrant learning community, structured as five interconnected villages, and serves students aged 3 to 19 with a total enrolment of 300. Its innovative curriculum is designed around a progression model that supports and challenges each pupil, fostering active engagement and enthusiasm for every aspect of life and learning.
