Working in partnership with Tes

We are proud to work in partnership with Tes, a leading digital education company that has been supporting educators for over 100 years.

Work at Smart Teachers

We are continually looking for exceptional staff to join our team. If you’re exceedingly hardworking, confident and creative in what you do, and a natural people-person, chances are you’ll fit right in. Tell us a little bit about yourself and perhaps we’ll discover a you-shaped space we never knew existed.

Smart Teachers and Tes

As part of Tes, we are the world’s largest community of teachers, dedicated to supporting, inspiring and connecting educators everywhere. Our mission is to help teachers and schools succeed, and to enable great teaching by helping educators find the tools and technology they need to excel.

Marguerite Mooney

Marguerite has been with Smart Teachers from the very beginning, over 12 years and has witnessed the company grow and flourish. Her 8 years’ teaching Drama, History and Film and Television in Australia have given her valuable insights into the challenges of finding the right candidate for her schools and understanding the school’s culture. A couple of years in arts administration and IT honed her project and event management skills and her ability to efficiently respond to any situation. Marguerite is currently training new consultants at Smart Teachers to juggle the demands of a lively recruitment desk. While settled in London for the last 8 years, at Christmas she still indulges in the Australian Christmas tradition of making Rum Balls to mixed reviews from her Smart colleagues. She has recently found Aussies at Tes who will appreciate and indulge in this Christmas tradition!

From the moment I contacted Smart, they assisted me in creating a great looking CV and really got to know my aspirations as a teacher. They organised all interview details and made sure I felt prepared, providing me details on the school and lots of encouragement. A big thanks to the team, the process has been seamless and I felt I was in good hands the whole way through.

Bridget Cowin
Teacher, Australia

I have nothing but praise and gratitude for all at Smart Teachers. In my move from America to Australia they had already collected all of my details, taken my interests and done a Skype interview all whilst I was still in the states. Although I dealt mainly with one agent, all of the staff that contacted me and helped me are super friendly. Due to family commitments I had to change which Australian state I was coming to and they very efficiently sent my information to their other office and hooked me up with a new contact. The team at Smart Teachers always considered the type of role I was looking for and kept regular contact by email and phone calls to check in with me and make sure they were still on track with my desires. They were very understanding of my particular circumstances and I now consider my particular agent a friend. I would recommend Smart Teachers to any teacher looking for a teaching position.

David Barker
Teacher, Australia

I recently returned to Australia after living and teaching in London in 2017. I just wanted to say thank you so much for the amazing experience I got to have thanks to Smart Teachers.

Every time I rang there was always someone friendly and willing to help. Most of all, my consultant Darrel. From day one setting up all my papers and preparing me for interviews whilst still in Australia, I felt at ease and he made the whole transition to London so smooth. I can’t thank him enough for his all his time, patience and understanding throughout my year away, nothing was too much.

I learnt so much from my teaching experience in London schools and can’t wait to apply into my teaching practice now I’m back in Australia. I just wanted to thank all of you at Smart for providing me with such a valuable life long experience. I will be recommending Smart to others.

My experience with Smart can be summarised in two words: STRESS FREE! Within a day of sending them my application they had already sent my details to two different schools. Shortly after my consultant Kimberley had organised me an interview and just two days after that I landed a great job at the school I wanted. Smart really took the stress out of finding a job and I was able to focus on completing my uni work with peace of mind.  Brisabne

Head of Teaching and Learning

Smart is a great agency and will go above and beyond to help you find the staff you need. Everyone here has been impressed with not only the quality of the teachers we have been able to recruit, but also the professionalism with which we are consistently treated. They always let us know if there is even a minor issue we need to be aware of and deal with any problems efficiently. I would also comment that their fees, in comparison to some other agencies, are considerably lower!

Thank you for all of your help over the past 15 months. I appreciate everything that you've done for me making my transition from New Zealand to the UK go so smoothly. I will not hesitate to recommend any of my friends and colleagues looking for teaching work.

The service that I received from Smart Teachers was outstanding. My UK consultant was in constant contact, kept me continuously updated, and made the entire process really easy. Having spoken to other recruitment agencies, the level of service and dedication I got from Smart Teachers was miles ahead.
