Cover Supervisor

Smart Teachers is recruiting a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a large, successful secondary school in East London from June 2026

About the role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson materials, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged and on task throughout the lesson.

The successful candidate will work across a variety of subjects and year groups and will play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Cover Supervisor you will:

• Supervising whole classes during teacher absences.
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring learning objectives are met.
• Managing student behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Supporting students to remain focused and engaged with learning activities
• Reporting on lesson outcomes and any issues arising during lessons

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
