About the role
We are seeking a proactive Design Technology Technician to support the smooth delivery of practical lessons across Resistant Materials, Textiles and Food Technology. You will prepare materials and equipment, maintain workshops, support teachers and students during practical activities, manage stock levels, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and assist with the maintenance of specialist equipment. This is a term-time position with additional summer holiday working.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Design Technology Technician you will:
- Experience working in a technical, workshop, laboratory or Design Technology environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH and safe use of machinery.
- Experience supporting Resistant Materials, Textiles and/or Food Technology.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills with both staff and students.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive and well-organised learning environment.
- Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.
- Qualifications in Design Technology, Engineering, Textiles or Food Safety are advantageous.
- Experience with CAD software, laser cutters, 3D printers or sewing machinery is beneficial.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Experience in a technical, workshop, laboratory or Design Technology support role.
- Experience in a technical, workshop, laboratory or Design Technology support role.
- Experience working with tools, machinery and materials used in Design Technology.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to support teaching staff effectively.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
