Smart Teachers is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Deputy SENDCO to join a forward-thinking, inclusive secondary school in South East London from September 2025.

About the role

The Role:

  • Lead on the annual EHCP review process for a cohort of students

  • Support the analysis of SEND data, specialist assessments, and target setting

  • Collaborate with curriculum leaders to maintain a high-quality inclusive offer at KS3 and KS4

  • Deliver targeted interventions and model high-quality SEND teaching

  • Support the professional development of staff working with SEND students

  • Play an integral role in transition planning across key stages

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Deputy SENCO you will:

  • Hold QTS and a relevant degree
  • Have a SEND qualification or willingness to undertake one
  • Demonstrate successful teaching experience across KS3/KS4 (KS2 experience also welcome)
  • Show knowledge of best practice in SEND provision, differentiation, and curriculum design
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Suitable teaching experience
