Respite and Reintegration Teaching Assistant

Smart Teachers is working with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Outer London seeking to appoint a dedicated Respite and Reintegration Teaching Assistant to join its SEND and pastoral team.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will lead the school's Respite and Reintegration provision while also working as a Teaching Assistant, helping students successfully reintegrate into mainstream education and achieve positive outcomes. The role would also suit graduates considering a future career in teaching or educational support

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Respite and Reintegration Teaching Assistant you will:

• Have experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND, autism or additional learning needs (desirable)
• Be confident supporting students both in the classroom and through targeted interventions
• Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and pastoral skills
• Have strong communication, organisation and time management skills
• Be proactive, resilient and able to use their own initiative

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Suitable EAL Support experience
