Behaviour Support Assistant

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Assistant to join a forward-thinking secondary school in East London from May 2026

About the role

• Supporting students with SEND and those at risk of underachievement
• Monitoring and tracking student progress, both academically and socially
• Contributing to pastoral strategies and interventions
• Supporting attendance, engagement, and behaviour systems
• Liaising with parents, carers, and external professionals
• Assisting with whole-school initiatives including rewards and sanctions

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Behaviour Support Assistant you will:

• Experience working with young people in an educational or support setting
• Strong understanding of inclusion and SEND
• Confident in monitoring progress and using data effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexible, proactive, and able to build positive relationships with students

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
