We are seeking a reliable and organised Science Technician to support the smooth running of a busy and engaging Science department. This is a part-time position across three days per week (Wednesday to Friday), ideal for someone looking for a flexible role within a school environment.
About the role
As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning by preparing equipment and materials for practical lessons. You will work closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons run efficiently and safely, while maintaining the organisation of laboratories and prep areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and setting up equipment for science experiments
- Assisting teachers during practical lessons where required
- Ensuring all equipment is cleaned, stored, and maintained properly
- Managing stock levels and ordering resources when needed
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Supporting the general organisation of the Science department

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Science Technician (Part-Time – 3 Days per Week) you will:
- Previous experience working in a school or laboratory setting
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Understanding of health and safety in a laboratory environment
- DBS on the Update Service
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Previous experience working in a school or laboratory setting
- DBS on the Update Service
