A forward-thinking secondary school in East London is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Graduate English Learning Mentor to join their supportive team
About the role
This role provides an excellent opportunity for an English graduate to gain valuable experience within a classroom environment and develop the skills needed for a future career in education.
Working alongside the English department, you will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 by helping them build confidence in reading, writing and communication. You will assist during lessons, support students with their understanding of key concepts and deliver focused interventions to help improve progress and attainment.
This position would be ideal for a graduate who enjoys working with young people and is interested in exploring teacher training or a long-term career within education.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Graduate English Learning Mentor you will:
- A strong academic background and enthusiasm for English
- A genuine desire to support students in developing their literacy skills
- The ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships with young people.
- A patient, encouraging and adaptable approach.
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Suitable teaching experience
