Key responsibilities
As Head of Design Technology you will be responsible for:
- Operational and Strategic Planning: Develop department improvement plans, lead the creation of syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, assessments, and teaching strategies to ensure high-quality education.
- Curriculum Delivery: Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, cost-effective, and exceptional curriculum in the field of Design Technology. Lead the development of the subject and its delivery, keeping it relevant and engaging for students.
- Staff Development: Recruit, build, and manage a motivated and effective team of staff. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to promote growth and excellence among the department members.
- Student Outcomes: Implement effective target setting, monitoring, and evaluation systems to track student progress. Maintain accurate student data and work towards achieving positive student outcomes.
- Pastoral System: As part of the pastoral team, be a form tutor for a selected group of students. Foster a supportive and nurturing environment within the school community.
