SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Hounslow on a full-time, long-term basis.

About the role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. This may include one-to-one support or working with small groups, helping pupils access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets. A patient, proactive, and inclusive approach is essential.

SEN Teaching Assistant – Long-Term (Full-Time)
Two-Form Entry Primary School
Location: Hounslow
Start Date: Just after February half-term
Contract: Until July 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEN

• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and individual support plans

• Assisting with differentiated learning activities and interventions

• Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff

• Following safeguarding procedures and school policies

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

• A relevant SEN or Teaching Assistant qualification or previous school-based experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Right to work in the UK
• Enhanced DBS on the update service
• SEN qualification or relevant experience
