Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Newham seeking an experienced Interim SENCO to provide strong leadership of the school's SEND provision
About the role
The successful candidate will lead the strategic development of SEND across the school, ensuring that students with additional needs receive high-quality support and achieve positive outcomes. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents and external agencies to maintain an inclusive learning environment and ensure statutory responsibilities are met. Interim SENCO appointments are commonly sought to provide experienced leadership and continuity within schools.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SENCO you will:
- Lead and manage the school's SEND provision across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews and statutory compliance
- Advise and support teachers in delivering high-quality inclusive practice
- Line manage and develop SEND support staff
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders, external agencies and parents/carers
- Monitor student progress and implement effective interventions
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Suitable SENCO experience
