The end of term is upon us and our Smarties in London group celebrated with a wine, cheese, and games night at the Down Under Centre in Ealing Broadway.
The Smarties had time in between brie and board games to get to know each other and swap stories of life back home and new beginnings in London. There was definitely a competitive spirit in the air (particularly with the chocolate game!)
After mingling with wine and Bogan-ology (an Australian version of Monopoly) Quizmaster Bianca led us on a brilliant London-themed quiz. Well done to Kaitlyn for coming out on top, winning a bottle of Prosecco.
We certainly had an evening to remember! London is a wonderful city for an overseas teacher to come live and work. There’s a great antipodean community scattered around, and events like these help connect expats with other expats. We had a ball meeting our newly arrived overseas teachers and cannot wait for our next Smarties in London event to meet more!
If you’re an overseas teacher thinking of teaching in the UK, we would love to hear from you. Our international team aim to support those thinking of heading abroad to teach in London- it's a big move, but it doesn't have to be. Please contact us with your CV today.
