Smart Teachers is seeking a committed and proactive Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive mixed 11–16 secondary school in East London. This temporary role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people and contributing to a positive learning environment.
About the role

Providing in-class support across KS3 and KS4

Supporting students with a range of additional needs, including mild SEND or learning barriers

Working alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions and small-group support

Helping maintain a focused, productive classroom atmosphere

Assisting with pastoral care and promoting positive student behaviour

Supporting teaching staff with general classroom duties and daily routines

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:
- Experience working in a secondary school or youth support environment
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting learners
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students
- A positive, professional attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and professional boundaries
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
