Smart Teachers is recruiting a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Barnet.
About the role
This rewarding part-time role involves providing dedicated support to a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them to access learning, develop social skills and thrive within the classroom environment. This would be on a part time basis Monday to Friday between 1:00pm to 3:15pm
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide individualised support for a Year 2 pupil with ASC.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship to promote confidence and engagement.
- Support the pupil in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff to implement tailored learning strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence and social interaction.
- Monitor progress and contribute to observations and feedback.
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Part Time TA you will:
- Have previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Be patient, empathetic and committed to helping every child reach their full potential
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be reliable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Suitable ASC experience
