This ‘Outstanding’ school based in Plumstead; South East London is looking to appoint a Primary Class Teacher for a Sept 2024 start.
About the role
All of the pupils have Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties with associated challenging behaviour; many have additional needs, including: Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties. The school offers a nurturing approach to education and social development and employ a therapy team, working in a range of different disciplines such as play, music, drama, art and family and Lego therapy.

The school tries to take into account their interests and aptitudes, whilst building core skills and supporting a strong knowledge base. The pupils are taught within the nurture model with high staff pupil ratios that enable us to provide an individualised approach to learning.
This school is committed to high quality education that inspires children to be as independent and enterprising as possible with a child- centred approach to teaching and learning. The SEMH Teacher would be leading and teaching a class of 7 pupils and will be supported in the class with 3 Teaching Assistants in the classroom to help consolidate the learning.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Primary Teacher you will:
- • Experience of working with SEN pupils in a teaching environment.
- • A passion for the progress of SEN school pupils
- • An ability to work as part of a team and flexible approach to support this schools requirements.
- • Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
