A high-performing and forward-thinking secondary academy in South London is seeking to appoint a passionate and committed Teacher of Religious Studies to join its Humanities department from April 2026.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Religious Studies teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will work collaboratively within the Humanities department to plan engaging lessons, develop curriculum resources, and support students’ academic progress and personal development.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Religious Studies Teacher you will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or working towards QTS
- Have strong subject knowledge in Religious Studies, Philosophy, or Ethics
- Posses the ability to teach Religious Studies across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Qualified Teacher Status or working towards a QTS
Key responsibilities
As Religious Studies Teacher you will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive, and well-structured Religious Studies lessons
- Supporting extracurricular and enrichment opportunities where appropriate
- Upholding safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
