SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Long term) Design Technology background

£425 - £450 per week (salary is dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
Start date: ASAP, Hours: 08:45am to 3:15pm
About the role
Requirements
The desired SEN Teaching Assistant will have:
- A desire to work in Special Educational Needs Schools supporting pupils with barriers to learning, additional learning needs, or social, emotional and mental health needs.
- A background in DT, Trades, Construction, Textiles or another similar background
- Relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults
- A warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils

A rapidly growing maintained secondary special school for pupils aged 11 to 19 with Moderate Learning Disabilities and associated complexities. Our positive learning community incorporates pupils, families, professionals and our dedicated team of experienced staff, who are committed to, and passionate about, the learning and progress of our pupils. We are looking for people with a Creative Arts background to use your skills and knowledge supporting children in a school environment. You will build positive working relationships with pupils and utilise your knowledge of creative arts to help them to get the most out of their time in education. As a DT Teaching Assistant you will get a feel for working in schools and gain valuable experience for a potential future in a role working with children.

- Experience working within SEN schools
Key responsibilities
As SEN Teaching Assistant (DT Background) you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the DT Teacher with the lessons
- Developing the learning of students with SEN
