SEN Teaching Assistant, Barking Riverside

A primary school situated in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham is currently searching for the right candidate to support their Special Educational Needs pupils.
About the role
The role primarily involves assisting pupils with autism and challenging behaviour. The pupils are across KS1 and KS2 and have a range of needs.

The school has good transport links with easy access from Barking Riverside Station, the school is a 5min walk from this station. It also close to Barking station with a bus that takes you from the station and stops immediately outside the premises in 15mins.
This is a school with a new building and one with a fantastic atmosphere and culture. The Ofsted report notes that “Pupils behave well in lessons and at play. They respond quickly to their teachers and are very considerate towards each other at all times”. The leaders of the school are dedicated to improving the quality of education at the school and they need committed Teaching Assistants to accomplish this.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you will:
- Preferably be a recent graduate with SEN experience
- Be calm, firm and thick skinned, ready to assist challenging students with their behavioural difficulties
- Be passionate about making a difference in schools
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
