Our client is looking to recruit a full-time, Teaching Assistant to join the school as soon as possible. We are looking for staff with experience supporting pupils in a mainstream or special needs setting.
About the role
Relevant experience will be considered. This school is looking to recruit staff and offer a permanent contract with full training and support available with the aim of developing the skills of each member of staff. This is a small SEN school in Harrow, North West London who have recently moved into a purpose-built space. This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is looking to work in a rewarding environment as this school expands naturally with a view to open another school in the near future, meaning natural progression available for staff. This school do not tolerate challenging behaviour and the students are here to receive the support they require. The staff here are not expected to manage behavior more than they support the learning for pupils.
About the school
This school caters for students with a range of special educational needs such as Autism (ASC) and Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH). The school is welcoming, friendly, and supportive. The new Headteacher makes his way around the school each morning to welcome their students and staff, they hold a morning de-brief to ensure staff are supported and any concerns are raised and dealt with accordingly.
The dress code here is relaxed, small class sizes of up to 4/6 students could be expected, sometimes smaller, with each pupil having their own 1:1 teaching assistant via their educational health care plan. The school are accepting referrals from local mainstream schools to ensure support is available to those students.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you will:
- • experience supporting pupils in a mainstream or special needs setting
- • have a warm and friendly nature to be able to build positive relationships with pupils
- • passionate about supporting children with barriers to learning
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
