I'm recruiting on behalf of an excellent Special Needs School based in Lambeth, a short walk from Oval Station.
About the role
We’re looking for either a Special Needs Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience to support pupils with SLD/MLD (Severe and Moderate learning difficulties) amongst other special educational needs.

- Small class sizes with additional staff support in each room
- Full time – term time only
- Hours - 8.30am to 3.30pm (additional pay available for afterschool clubs)
- Minimal challenging behaviour - Medical/Learning needs
- Progression available for all staff including Teaching Assistants
Requirements
To be considered for the role of Teaching Assistant you will:
- • Have a passion to teach outside of a mainstream environment, and a commitment to experience the unique opportunities of a special school
- • Have a kind, caring, and compassionate nature which is used to plan and deliver inclusive, fun, and inspiring lessons
- • Have Makaton experience (desirable but not essential)
- • Have additional skills that can support after school clubs
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
