Smart Teachers are working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in Tower Hamlets to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History Teacher for a full-time, fixed-term position starting in September 2026
About the role
The successful candidate will:
- Teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced lessons that inspire a love of History.
- Assess, monitor and support student progress, ensuring all learners are challenged to achieve their potential.
- Contribute positively to the Humanities department and wider school community.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance and academic achievement.

Requirements
To be considered for the role of History Teacher you will:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for History
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Suitable teaching experience
