A well-regarded independent school in Kensington & Chelsea is seeking a skilled and personable IT professional to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis.

About the role

IT Support & Infrastructure Specialist – Full-Time, Long-Term
Independent School
Location: Kensington & Chelsea
Hours: School Hours | Term Time Only

This is a varied and hands-on position, ideal for someone who is confident with both technical infrastructure and day-to-day user support. You will be responsible for maintaining the school’s IT systems, including server management and network infrastructure, while also providing responsive support to staff and pupils. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of IT across a small, close-knit school community of approximately 185 pupils.

The school is looking for someone who is equally comfortable handling technical “heavy lifting” as they are providing friendly, approachable support to non-technical users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, including servers and networks
  • Providing first-line and ongoing IT support to staff and pupils
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues efficiently
  • Supporting classroom technology and digital learning tools
  • Ensuring systems are secure, up-to-date, and running smoothly
  • Acting as the main point of contact for all IT-related matters

About the school

The school is a small, independent setting with a strong sense of community and collaboration. With a relatively small pupil population, the environment allows for meaningful relationships and a more personalised approach to both teaching and support services. Staff are supportive, and there is a strong emphasis on professionalism and approachability.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of IT Technician you will:

  • Strong technical IT knowledge, including server and network management
  • Previous experience in an IT support role (education setting desirable)
  • Ability to work independently and manage a broad range of responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Approachable, patient, and solution-focused mindset

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Relevant degree
  • Previous experience
