Smart Teachers is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Classics Teacher to join a leading independent girls’ school in South East London

About the role

• Delivering high-quality lessons in Classics across Key Stages 3–5 (Latin, Classical Civilisation and/or Ancient History as applicable).

• Planning and preparing engaging lessons aligned to departmental schemes of work.

• Assessing, tracking and supporting students’ progress.

• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Classics Teacher you will:

• Strong subject knowledge in Classics and related disciplines.
• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Experience of teaching at least one classical subject to A Level
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
