Smart Teachers is working in partnership with a highly successful secondary school in East London to recruit a Deputy Premises Manager.
About the role
As Deputy Premises Manager, you will support the management of all aspects of site operations, including premises maintenance, contract monitoring, health and safety compliance, security, cleaning services and facilities management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the leadership of the premises and cleaning teams
- Managing cleaning operations and monitoring contractor performance
- Assisting with planned preventative maintenance programmes and site improvements
- Monitoring external service contracts to ensure quality and value for money
- Supporting budget management and procurement processes
- Overseeing health and safety compliance, risk assessments and statutory checks
- Assisting with site security, alarm systems and key-holder responsibilities
- Supervising contractors and maintenance works across the site
- Supporting lettings, events and community use of facilities
- Deputising for the Premises & Contract Monitoring Manager when required

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Deputy Premises Manager you will:
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to prioritise competing demands within a busy environment
- Practical knowledge of building maintenance, security systems and site services
- Experience supervising or leading teams
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing contractors and monitoring service delivery
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
