Smart Teachers are working in partnership with a successful and inclusive secondary school in East London to recruit a Premises Assistant to join their site team.
About the role
As Premises Assistant, you will support the Premises Manager in the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of the school site. Duties will include:
- Opening and closing the school premises
- Carrying out routine maintenance and basic repairs
- Assisting with health and safety checks across the site
- Setting up rooms and facilities for meetings, events and examinations
- Monitoring site security and responding to issues as required
- Supporting contractors working on site
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and safety throughout the school grounds
- Undertaking porterage duties and moving equipment where necessary

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Premises Assistant you will:
- Have previous experience in a premises, caretaker, facilities, maintenance or site assistant role
- Possess good DIY and practical maintenance skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a strong understanding of health and safety practices
- Be organised, flexible and proactive in their approach to work
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
