Smart Teachers are pleased to be working with a successful and ambitious secondary school seeking to appoint an organised, enthusiastic and proactive Science Technician

About the role

As a Science Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Science department by preparing practical resources, maintaining laboratories and ensuring a safe learning environment for students and staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment and materials for practical Science lessons.
  • Maintaining laboratories, preparation rooms and specialist equipment to a high standard.
  • Managing stock levels, ordering resources and ensuring chemicals and equipment are stored safely.
  • Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and classroom activities where required.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
  • Assisting with the maintenance, repair and organisation of laboratory equipment and resources.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Science Technician you will:

  • Have a science qualification or relevant practical experience
  • Be committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Be able to work efficiently under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Suitable technician experience
