Science Academic Mentor

Smart Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Academic Mentor to join a successful secondary school in East London

About the role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Science department to provide targeted academic support across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will support students through one-to-one mentoring, small group interventions, and classroom-based support, helping pupils to overcome barriers to learning and make strong academic progress.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Science Academic Mentor you will:

• A graduate with a strong academic background in Science or a related subject (desirable)
• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting
• A confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with students
• Passionate about supporting young people and improving educational outcomes
• Considering a future career in teaching or education (ideal preparation for teacher training)

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Suitable mentor experience
