A secondary school in Bexley is seeking a motivated and reliable Trainee Cover Supervisor to support with classroom cover across the school. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in education and develop key classroom management skills.
About the role
As a Trainee Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising whole classes during teacher absences. You will follow lesson plans provided by teaching staff and ensure students remain focused and engaged throughout the lesson.
This is an excellent stepping stone for those considering teacher training or careers working with young people. You will gain valuable experience managing behaviour, building rapport with students, and understanding how schools operate day-to-day.
Your duties will include:
- Supervising students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Delivering pre-set work in a structured and engaging way
- Managing behaviour effectively and confidently
- Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and conduct

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Trainee Cover Supervisor you will:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and confident in a classroom setting
- Experience working with young people is advantageous but not required
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
