About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a young boy in Year 1 who has autism and exhibits very challenging behaviour. This role requires someone with patience, resilience, and a deep understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs (SEN). You will be required to:
- Provide one-to-one support for the student, ensuring his safety and promoting a positive learning experience
- Implement tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Support the student in developing social skills and managing his behaviour
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

Requirements
To be considered for the role of KS1 Teaching Assistant you will:
- Have experience working with children with autism and challenging behaviour
- Have knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with SEN
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
