Librarian

Smart Teachers is working with a successful and ambitious secondary school in Outer London seeking to appoint a proactive and enthusiastic Learning Resource Centre Manager to lead the school's library provision

About the role

As Learning Resource Centre Manager, you will:

• Manage the day-to-day operation and development of the school library.
• Create an engaging and welcoming learning environment for students.
• Promote reading for pleasure and develop whole-school literacy initiatives.
• Support students with independent study, research and wider learning.
• Organise literacy events, reading programmes and library-based enrichment activities.
• Work closely with teaching staff to support curriculum delivery and student progress.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities that promote literacy, study skills and student aspiration.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Librarian you will:

• Have a genuine passion for books, reading and literacy
• Be able to inspire young people to develop a lifelong love of reading
• Have excellent communication, organisational and time management skills
• Be proactive, innovative and committed to continually developing the library provision
• Build positive relationships with students and staff

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
