Science Technician

Smart Teachers are currently recruiting for a Science Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in Redbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and enthusiastic individual to support the Science Department and contribute to the smooth delivery of practical lessons across the school.

About the role

• Preparing and setting up practical equipment and resources for Science lessons across KS3–KS5
• Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and experiments
• Maintaining, organising and checking laboratory equipment and materials
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed within the Science Department
• Managing stock levels, ordering resources and maintaining accurate records
• Supporting the smooth running of practical lessons and the wider department

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Science Technician you will:

• Previous experience working as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment is desirable
• Strong knowledge of Science equipment, practical procedures and health & safety requirements
• Organised, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
• Someone who is passionate about supporting young people and education

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Suitable technician experience
