An established specialist school in Islington is currently seeking two PMLD Teaching Assistants to join their team in September 2026. The setting supports pupils with learning difficulties.
Full time - 08:30 - 16:00
Sep 2026 - July 2027
About the role
This role is ideal for someone who has genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs.
Your responsibilities will include-
- Supporting pupils with PMLD needs on a one-to-one or small group basis
- Helping students to engage in their learning and develop positive relationships
- Working closely with teaching and therapeutic staff to create a safe, nurturing environment
- Assisting with behaviour regulation strategies and emotional well-being

Requirements
To be considered for the role of SEN Teaching assistant you will:
- Have a DBS on the updated service or be willing to apply for one
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Prior experience working with children with SEN
Key responsibilities
As SEN Teaching assistant you will be responsible for:
- Support pupils throughout the day where needed
- Providing support to class teachers and partner staff
