SMART Teachers is working with a range of fantastic primary schools across Hounslow that are looking to recruit passionate Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and long-term supply roles from September 2026.
About the role
As a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant, you'll support children in Nursery and Reception, working closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences.
You'll help children develop key communication, social, emotional, and early literacy and numeracy skills while ensuring every pupil feels safe, happy, and supported throughout the school day.
Assignments range from daily supply cover to long-term positions lasting a full term or academic year.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning within Nursery and Reception classes
- Deliver engaging play-based activities in line with the EYFS Framework
- Work with individual children and small groups to support learning and development
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
- Assist with observations, assessments, and learning journals where required
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment
- Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

Requirements
To be considered for the role of EYFS Teaching Assistant you will:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (CACHE, NVQ or equivalent)
- Previous experience working within an EYFS setting or UK primary school
- Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
- Caring, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children's early learning and development
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Years of previous experience
- Level 3 CACHE
