Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work in supportive primary schools across Hammersmith & Fulham?

About the role

As a Supply SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. Roles may involve supporting children on a 1:1 basis, leading small-group interventions, or assisting within the classroom to ensure pupils can fully access learning.

You'll have the flexibility to choose between day-to-day assignments and longer-term placements, with both full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and other additional needs
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual learning plans and EHCP targets
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENDCos, and external professionals
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to a positive learning environment
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom

Requirements

To be considered for the role of SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND
  • Experience working within a UK primary school is highly desirable
  • A patient, resilient, and caring approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
