Head of Drama

Smart Teachers are working in partnership with a high-performing secondary school in Outer London to recruit an ambitious and inspirational Head of Drama for September 2026

About the role

• Lead and manage the Drama department
• Teach Drama across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Develop and implement an engaging and ambitious Drama curriculum
• Monitor student progress and implement effective intervention strategies
• Organise productions, performances and extracurricular activities
• Contribute to whole-school enrichment and creative arts initiatives
• Support departmental development and staff where applicable

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Head of Drama you will:

• Qualified Teacher Status
• A strong track record of successful secondary Drama teaching
• Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development
• The ability to inspire, challenge and motivate students and colleagues

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Suitable teaching experience
